Throughout three active days, immerse yourself in the gorgeous natural surroundings and hidden wonders of this lesser known part of Taiwan. Reconnect with nature as you hike, swim and explore unparalleled beauty that much of the travel community has yet to find. Dine on authentic local aboriginal food, and learn about the local culture from our experienced guides who have spent their entire lives in the area and LOVE to show it to the world.
We get started early and head to the crown jewel of Taiwan, Taroko Gorge National Park. Wind your way through this geological marvel known as Asia’s Grand Canyon, a marble gorge with towering cliffs, varied mountain peaks, numerous waterfalls, and diverse plant and animal life. On the second day we go inland to the East Rift Valley to experience turquoise rivers, gorgeous lakes, and possibly find some local Jade along the way. Day three, we head south down the famous Coast Highway 11 to explore amazing beaches, eat traditional food, and experience Shitiping, a geological wonder jutting out of the Pacific Ocean.

Towering mountains and deep gorges make for a stunningly beautiful and endlessly surprising day in this top natural attraction. Visit the Taroko Visitor Center, the iconic Taroko Arch, the serene Eternal Spring Shrine, and the peaceful Tianxiang, each offering stunning views and a deep connection to the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Taroko Gorge. Dine on authentic aboriginal fare for lunch, and end the day at the picturesque Qixingtan Beach.
Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Liyu Lake, swim in crystal-clear rivers, and explore the pristine Bai Bao Creek, wading through its cool currents in search of genuine Taiwan jade. Create a keepsake at the local Jade shop! Savor the authentic flavors of Amis Tribe cuisine, bike through the lush paths of Danongdafu, and end your day with a relaxing soak in soothing hot springs.
Journey along the coast to Henan Temple, where breathtaking sea views unfold beneath Taiwan’s largest golden Buddha perched on the mountainside. Explore the East Coast’s second-largest gorge, hike to a cliff-top viewpoint for stunning vistas, and relax on the sandy shores of Jici Beach. Wander through the peaceful Xinshe Coastal Rice Terraces, then savor the unique taste of smoked flying fish at an Amis Tribe Fisherman’s Restaurant. Finally, venture to Shihtiping (Stone Steps) to marvel at surreal rock formations and crystal-clear tidal pools, all set within a magnificent 360-degree panorama of land and sea.

I recently took a one-week tour along Taiwan’s East Coast, and it was unforgettable. We explored the stunning Taroko Gorge, charming coastal towns, and enjoyed fresh seafood in Taitung. A highlight was visiting indigenous villages and learning about their culture. We also relaxed in Kenting National Park, known for its beaches and wildlife. The tour was well-paced, with a perfect mix of nature, culture, and local experiences. The guides were fantastic, making the trip even more memorable. We hiked through the stunning Taroko Gorge, visited peaceful coastal villages, and enjoyed delicious seafood in Taitung.
